Let’s discuss something. No one warned us about this. They handed us our first wrinkle cream and said, “It’s all downhill from here.” I expected crow’s feet. I expected rogue chin hairs. I expected to wake up one day and realize I have a “knee sound.”
But I did not expect my nose hair to enter its Personal Growth Era.

I mean… the audacity.

Somewhere between 45 and right now, my body decided to retire most of the hair on my head. They were treated like overworked factory employees. Then my body turned around and poured all that energy into my nostrils. My brows? Sparse. My mustache? Patchy but committed. But my nose hair?
Thriving. Energized. Ambitious.
If my entire life had the enthusiasm of this nose hair, I’d be a CEO millionaire living on a yacht.

This stuff grows faster than my patience runs out at family gatherings.

And let’s talk texture. The hair on my head is like, “We’re tired… we’re fragile… please use a repairing mask.” Meanwhile the hair in my nose is basically steel rebar. I’m one sneeze away from accidentally aerating the garden.

And yes, I trim it. I pluck it. I threaten it.
It. Does. Not. Care.

It grows back like it’s training for the Olympics.
Like it’s fueled by spite and peri‑menopause.
Like it’s personally offended that I tried to stop it from achieving its dreams.

Honestly? I respect the hustle.

Some days I stand in the mirror and think, “Wow. If my metabolism had even HALF the passion my nose hair has, I’d be unstoppable. I’d be in a sports bra right now, drinking green juice, glowing like a woman in a wellness commercial.”
But no. Instead, my nose is growing a bonsai tree.

Middle age is wild. No one warns you that your hormones flip a switch. Suddenly, all the hair that used to grow gracefully in socially acceptable locations relocates to the absolute worst ZIP codes. It’s like my body got bored and started redecorating. Poorly.

But here’s the thing:
I may not love the nose hair era, but at least it proves one thing…

Something on my body is still growing and thriving.
Even if it’s in the wrong damn place.

And honestly? If scientists ever discover that middle‑aged nose hair is some kind of untapped renewable energy source, I expect royalties. My nostrils alone could probably power a small town. Until then, I’ll keep trimming. I’ll keep laughing. I’ll keep reminding myself that aging isn’t for the weak. It’s for the women who can stare down a wiry nose hair in 10x magnification and say, “Not today, Satan.”
